A Reminder To Take a Moment
There is a moment when you become a mother when the center of your world shifts.
Suddenly, there is this tiny human who relies on you for everything. To feed them, hold them, comfort them, keep them safe, help them sleep and help them grow. Your days, and often your nights, are no longer entirely your own.
I remember in those early months, even the smallest things I once did without thinking felt surprisingly difficult. Taking a shower, finishing a cup of tea while it was still warm, going for a walk alone or spending ten uninterrupted minutes getting ready in the morning suddenly required planning.
And then the babies grow.
The sleepless nights may eventually become less frequent, but the giving doesn't necessarily stop. It simply changes shape.
There are school lunches to make and permission slips to sign. Practices to drive to, birthday presents to buy, costumes to find and appointments to remember. There are holidays, teachers, playdates, homework, laundry, groceries, family gatherings and the thousand tiny details that somehow make a household, and a childhood, run.
For working mothers, there is another world layered on top of it all. Meetings, deadlines, careers and clients have to coexist with everything happening at home. There is a constant transition between professional life and family life, sometimes several times in the same hour.
I love being a mother, but I also learned how easy it is to become so focused on caring for everyone else that you stop being intentional about caring for yourself.
That experience became an important part of the inspiration for The Beauty Way.
When Caring for Yourself Moves to the Bottom of the List
There was a period after becoming a mother when I wasn't making enough time for myself, and I could feel the effects of that.
For a while, I think I had fallen into the idea that taking care of myself required finding a significant amount of time. A spa day. A free afternoon. A weekend away. All wonderful things, but not always realistic when you are in the middle of raising a family.
What I began to understand was that sometimes I just needed five minutes and realized that consistency started compounding and making a difference in how I felt.
Five quiet minutes before everyone woke up. A mantra, repeated, while getting ready for the day. An uninterrupted shower. Taking a little longer to massage body oil into my skin rather than rushing through another step in my routine.
And sometimes, when life allowed, I wanted the hour-long bath. I wanted to close the door, put my phone away and create the feeling of a spa at home.
Those small rituals started to change the way I thought about self-care. It didn't always have to be an event. It could simply be a small, intentional part of my day.
Five Minutes Can Still Matter
That idea became part of the philosophy behind The Beauty Way.
I wanted to create body care that could turn something we already do every day into something more intentional. Beautiful textures, thoughtful ingredients and sensorial products that make you want to slow down and enjoy the experience of using them.
The warmth of the water. The texture of a body polish against your skin. The scent that fills the room as you massage in a crème or oil.
A little of the spa, brought home.
Five minutes doesn't solve the demands of motherhood, and I don't think we should pretend that it does. But I have come to believe there is real value in choosing, even briefly, to include yourself among the people you care for, adds up..
For Every Stage of Motherhood
The more I talk to other women, the more I realize this isn't only about those intense early years.
Motherhood keeps changing.
The babies become toddlers. The toddlers start school. Suddenly there are sports, activities, homework and social lives to manage. Then there are teenagers who need you in entirely different ways. Eventually, your children become adults, but that instinct to care for them doesn't simply disappear.
Every stage asks something different of us.

That is why I want The Beauty Way to be about more than body care. I want it to be a reminder to create small moments of intention and presence within the lives we are already living.
Maybe today that is five minutes to yourself and a mantra before the day begins.
Maybe it is twenty minutes at the end of the evening with a body ritual you love.
Maybe this weekend it is an hour in the bath with the door closed and nowhere else you need to be. Put it on the family calendar like an appointment you can’t miss.
However you find it, take the moment.
Not because you have earned it by getting everything else done.
Simply because you deserve to be one of the people you take care of.
